AdShield and GetRight's Click Monitoring Web Page Popup Ad blocking program AdShield (version 1.2) can block GetRight's click monitoring. To fix this, disable "Block listed Images" and "Block listed Pages" in AdShield's dontrol panel. "Block listed popups" and "Block Scripted popups" can still be enabled.

Click Monitoring with AOL 9 A new click monitoring method added in GetRight version 5.1 can really help with AOL 9. It also works with many other Internet Explorer based browsers, such as Avant and MSN Explorer. Go to the "Monitor" page of GetRight's configuration and make sure that both Internet Explorer Moniroring checkboxes are selected. This is a new feature in version 5.1. If you have an older version of GetRight, please upgrade.

Click Monitoring with AOL When you browse the Internet with AOL it is basically using an embedded version of IE (this might change to Netscape in newer versions of the AOL software), so check the "Monitor" page of Getright's configuration window and make sure that click monitoring for IE and Netscape is enabled. However, some of AOL's own files (when they send you updates and some others) are on their own system and Getright can't catch those. Click monitoring doesn't work on a specific web site. Why? Sites which use scripted re-directs to files (such as CGI, ASP, or javascript) can confuse GetRight. Try holding CTRL and ALT when clicking the link you want if it isn't working automatically. This will force GetRight to try and download the file.

Click monitoring in Internet Explorer stopped working. Upgrading Windows (or other things) can over-write GetRight's settings. To fix: on the Monitor configuration page in GetRight (or "Web Browsers" page in the Wizard), uncheck the box for monitoring of Internet Explorer, then click OK to apply the changes, then go back and re-check the box. That will fix this in most cases.

Click monitoring stopped working all of a sudden. Why? If you've recently upgraded or re-installed your browser (or upgraded Windows) That might have written over GetRight's Click monitoring settings. Go to the "monitor" page of the configuration window and turn click monitoring off (close the window to apply the changes) then go back and turn click monitoring back on. Another possibility is that some sites which use CGI re-directs to files can confuse GetRight. Try holding CTRL and ALT when clicking the link you want if it isn't working automatically. Clipboard monitoring stopped working. Some people have reported that if other programs (which also do similar clipboard monitoring) are running, they may stop GetRight's clipboard monitoring from working (CuteFTP was one that someone had conflicts with). Try closing any other programs that may be doing similar monitoring the clipboard for URLs.

GetRight & Netscape 6 & 7 Netscape 6 & 7 does not support the same click monitoring methods used by GetRight with previous versions of Netscape. They left out the features that have been there since Netscape Version 1.0. For now, you must either: Right click the links and do "Copy Link Location". Or, the plugins used for GetRight's Opera click monitoring do work in Netscape--with some quirks and differences from the other click monitoring. GetRight and Windows XP Help and Support Center It seems if GetRight is installed, searches in Windows XP's "Help and Support" program don't return any results. Is an odd conflict with the current IE click monitoring. There is a workaround for now: If you use an alternate Alternate Click Monitoring DLL (download link below - 154K installer, updated April 25, 2002..) In the installer, on the 2nd page, you should check the box about turning off the default IE click monitoring. After installing this update, the Windows XP Help and Support program should work (might need to reboot first.) Note: The checkbox in the GetRight Monitor configuration for Internet Explorer will be turned off and should be left off. This alternate Internet Explorer monitoring will use the Netscape checkbox to tell if it should monitor clicks or not. How do I Not download something when I click a link--such as a search site? Some sites (such as some search sites) use URLs that GetRight things are files so it will try to download the "file". When GetRight is integrated into either Netscape or Microsoft web browsers, if you hold the SHIFT key down when clicking a link, GetRight will not try to get the link (even if it is a type that GetRight would normally handle, such as .EXE.) Also, if you hold both the CONTROL and ALT keys down when clicking a link, GetRight will always get the link (even if it is a type that your web browser would normally handle, such as .HTML.) You may also create a list of servers that GetRight should always ignore when doing click monitoring. See the Monitor configuration page.
