  • Opera 7.01 doesn't catch downloads when GetRight's Opera plug-in is installed (this might also help Opera 5.11)
    Click Monitoring with AOL
When you browse the Internet with AOL it is basically using an embedded version of IE (this might change to Netscape in newer versions of the AOL software), so check the "Monitor" page of Getright's configuration window and make sure that click monitoring for IE and Netscape is enabled.

However, some of AOL's own files (when they send you updates and some others) are on their own system and Getright can't catch those.

    GetRight & Netscape 6 & 7
Netscape 6 & 7 does not support the same click monitoring methods used by GetRight with previous versions of Netscape. They left out the features that have been there since Netscape Version 1.0. For now, you must either:
  • Right click the links and do "Copy Link Location".
  • Or, the plugins used for GetRight's Opera click monitoring do work in Netscape--with some quirks and differences from the other click monitoring. Just install GetRight's Opera plugins into the ...\Netscape\Plugins directory.

Opera 7.01 doesn't catch downloads when GetRight's Opera plug-in is installed (this might also help Opera 5.11)
Opera 7 wants to install itself into a different directory than older versions of Opera, so might need to re-istall or copy the plugins over into the new directory (which is the /plugins/ subdirectory from where the program is installed. Also - "File--preferences--Multimedia" has the "Find plugins" button, which can help setup Opera to use the plugins once they are there.

If you are still having problems with Opera catching EXE downloads, do the following
In the Opera preferences, on the File Types: for the application/x-msdownload to edit it, and delete the EXE file type.
Then edit the application/octet-stream one and add the EXE file type. That should fix it.
